How to pick a Padded Headboard

Padded headboards can revive a room and add a romantic style. There are hundreds of styles, colors and fabrics to choose from and can become overwhelming. The first thing to decide is what you are looking for in your headboard. Do you want a simple accent piece or a powerful statement? Do you want to stick the current theme or take your décor in a new direction? There are many options with a few basic rules to follow.

Start by looking around your room and use a common or accent color that you want to accentuate. You don’t want to stray too far from the color pallet for your bedroom furniture. While the upholstery should match your space, take into consideration the possibility of redecoration. Though you can always have padded headboards reupholstered, the safest choice would be a neutral color. When looking at materials choose one that will make a statement while still belonging. From silky smooth to textured fabrics, it can further the sophistication and give a lovely effect.

A beautiful padded headboard can draw the eye, becoming the center of your room but the wrong style or color can disrupt the look of the whole look. When deciding on styles, again look to the room you are using it in. If you have a large open space, go with a large commanding headboard. For smaller rooms look for a daintier one that will better complement your bedroom; anything too large will feel overwhelming and out of place. Always consider what you have as well as what you want.

Whether you are looking for a simple sleek headboard or a beautiful elaborate one, there is plenty out there to choose from.
