Best Colors for an Upholstered Headboard
An upholstered bed can make a dramatic difference in a room, adding elegance or power. The gentle upholstery allows activates such as sitting up in bed to read that are more difficult with metal headboards. To choose the best color for you, look at your current or intended décor. Then decide if you want soft pastel or bold statement to be added to your room. There is every color under the sun to choose from, and to find the right one for your bed room these things must be taken into consideration.
For a more delicate addition to your home, choose from a number of pastels. These often seem more feminine, especially in pinks and purples. This would be the perfect touch to a rose bed room or a princess themed room with one of the pastel padded headboards. However, many lighter colors such as sky blue and soft green headboards are gender neutral and enhance a room without seeming to overpower it. More bold colors can make a dramatic statement and become the focus of the room. Bright yellows and oranges can be paired with either a dark or simple white room to create a sensational effect. A stark green can create either a playful or very sophisticated effect depending on the shade and surroundings. Recently red has become exceedingly popular and is a bold choice that can be matched with black and white well.
Ultimately, upholstered headboards usually best when in neutral colors or matched with neutral surroundings. Neutral colors are beige, ivory, taupe, black, gray, and white and are exceedingly simple to match with anything. It is easy to over complicate a room with too many colors or trying to match. A headboard will best stand out when it has a nice contrast with its surroundings.
Stick to the safe neutral tones or choose something with more personality, an upholstered headboard is bound to make your room a success.
