Monroe Dining Set

Have you ever heard of the term “baroque”? Unless you have a large interest in architecture or furniture or studied for a degree in interior design, you may have heard the phrase but probably don’t know what it means. Baroque is described as any type of furniture that is thought to have a complex line or excessive ornamentation. When it comes to baroque furniture, you have to be careful. Some of it has far too much ornamentation and looks extremely pretentious. Other pieces just look downright silly. Finding a good dining room set that has baroque styling but that isn’t too fussy or fancy can be difficult.

The Monroe Dining Set is one dining room set that pulls off baroque very well. This dining room set has four chairs and a glass table top table. The metal chairs have swoops and swerves all around them, including on the top of the chairs, which has a marble inset as the focal point. The glass table top also has marble accents all around it and has matching metal legs that curve gracefully down to the floor. It seats four people comfortably but you could easily add one or two more without worrying about having to bump elbows.

This dining room set by Hillsdale Furniture would work beautifully in almost any dining room, from a larger one to a smaller breakfast nook. You can purchase it alone or can buy it with the Monroe Baker’s Rack to add level of baroque styling to your dining room.
